Dinah Lee - Introducing Dinah Lee

Here's my fresh transfer of Dinah's first album from 1964 for Viking.

It has what is the cleanest version of "Do The Blue Beat" i've ever heard, which is nice and crisp, and without the distortion and hiss on the S's.

I've also added two bonus tracks, the 45 mixes from my 45 of "Who Stole The Sugar" and "Rock Around The Clock" which are mixed slightly hotter and different to the album versions.

I hope you enjoy this LP, Over half of it never released on CD.

01: Do The Blue Beat
02: Who Stole The Sugar
03: I'm Walkin'
04: You Don't Talk About Love
05: Stay Awhile
06: Don't You Know Yockomo (album version without reverb)
07: Happy Blue Beat
08: I'm In Love Again
09: Say Mama
10: Nitty Gritty
11: Hallelujah I Love Him So
12: Rock Around The Clock
13: Who Stole The Sugar [45 Mix]
14: Rock Around The Clock [45 Mix]

Format is FLAC, and every stage has been lossless. The 45 tracks were transferred half speed at 33 1/3RPM to achieve cleaner results.

The Sound of The 'Chicks'

Was tranfered on my Technics SL-D33 with a Technics 270c cartridge and stylus. The lp itself was a bit rough, but sounds very good for it's age. As with all the other Viking LP's, high end distortion is an issue. I have left this as is, as this should not hinder your listening enjoyment. Very light de-clicking has been done with ClickFix for Adobe Audition.

This is rather a decent album. Much better than Dinah Lee's debut album, which shall be here soon also (only a few tracks are on cd I believe).

This lp is all new, except for "The Hucklebuck", which sounds far better here than the needledrop that's appeared on cd's since Kiwi Classics Vol. 1 in 1996, It also has a slightly longer fade out here, and does not have the scraping noise on the intro, it also sounds more crisp, warm and less harsh.

This took me 2 hours to transfer and get into a listenable and enjoyable state. I hope you enjoy it. Please leave feedback and comments, as it's really appreciated.

ARTWORK

Peter Posa - His Greatest Hits (1966 Viking)

Here's what is his probably first greatest hits LP, Sound quality is superb and like all here on this blog, it's my own rip.

This was transferred on my Technics SL-D33 Direct Drive Turntable with a 270c cartridge and stylus and was tracked at 3 grams to avoid high frequency distortion that is normally rampant on these Viking LP's. These were transfered at 24-bit 96hz. Each track was done separatly transfer wise, and before each track was transferred, the stylus was inspected and cleaned if needed, and the lp was cleaned with a cleaning brush before each track was transferred. These were manually declicked for all the big pops, and a light auto de-click to remove the smaller ones, any hint of rumble has been removed. They were then summed to mono, and exported to standard 44/16 Flac, tagged, with cover, and uploaded (cover and back included). NO USE OF ANY FORM OF NOISE REDUCTION HAS BEEN USED.

Peter Posa - The White Rabbit (1963 Viking)

Here's Peter Posa's first album (pretty sure) for Viking. Including the classic and Iconic "The White Rabbit" which was a huge hit in 1963/64.
